Getting started
How do I claim my church page?
Open your church's page on ChurchedIn and click “Manage this page”. Fill in your name and email. If your email address matches your church's website (for example info@mychurch.be for mychurch.be), you get access immediately. Otherwise we check your request and email you as soon as you have access.
I didn't get my login email, or the link doesn't work.
Check your spam folder and wait a few minutes. The link works only once and for a limited time, and you need to open it in the same browser where you asked for it. If it still doesn't work, ask for a new link on the login page or contact us.
Can I use the screens in French or Dutch?
Yes. In My church, open Settings and choose English, French or Dutch. Your choice is saved on your account. It only changes the screens you work in: the texts of your church page are written separately, in the languages you choose.
Can several people manage the church page?
Yes. Each person claims the page with their own email address. If you need to remove someone's access, contact us.
Your church page
What is the difference between the short and the full description?
The short description (one or two sentences) is shown in the list of churches, in search results and on Google. When your page was created we may have filled it in from public information: replace it with your own words so it says who you are. The full description is shown on your church page, under “About”: tell visitors who you are, what a Sunday looks like, who is welcome and what there is for children. You can use bold text, lists and links.
How do I write my service times?
Write one line per service, for example “Sunday 10:00 – English” and “Sunday 18:00 – French”. Visitors see them on your page and in the list, and people search by day, so use the usual day names.
Which photo should I add?
A photo of your building or your community; a landscape picture works best. It appears next to your name in the list and at the top of your page. Photos are shrunk automatically in your browser; if one is still over 2 MB, the page links to a tool that shrinks it.
How do I correct the address or the map?
Open the tab “Where to find you”, fill in the street, postal code and town, and set the position on the map. The small help text there explains how to find the two numbers of your building. The map is used for directions and for “near me”.
Why do I choose a denomination and languages?
People filter churches by denomination and by language. If you leave them empty, your church doesn't show up in those searches. Choose every language that is used in your services.
How do I write my texts in French and Dutch?
In “About your church”, above the descriptions, click “Add a version in another language”. Visitors see the version in their own language; if there isn't one, they see your original text with a short note.
My church has several locations.
In My church, click “Add another location”. Every location gets its own page, with its own address, times and photo, linked to the other locations of your church.
How do I get the “Verified” label?
When your claim is approved, your page shows “Verified”. It tells visitors that the information comes from the church itself. Keep it up to date: that's what makes the label worth something.
How do I add a giving link?
In My church → Church page → Contact, paste the address of your own giving page in Giving link. A Give button then appears on your page (and on your church website). ChurchedIn never takes payments: people are sent to your page.
How do I add a contact form to my page?
In My church → Church page → Contact, tick Show a contact form on my page and save. Visitors can then write to you from your page without seeing your email address; the message arrives at your public church address, or at the addresses of the people who manage your page. We keep no messages, and at most 5 messages a day can be sent to a page.
How do I connect my organisation to a church, or approve a request?
Organisations: open My church and scroll to Connected churches, search the church, choose how you are connected (started by, part of, meets at, supported by) and send the request. You can connect to several churches. Churches: requests appear in My church under Connection requests; nothing shows on your page until you approve it, and you can remove a connection at any time. If nobody manages the church yet, the ChurchedIn team decides.
Events and registration
How do I add an event?
Open My church → Events and click “Add an event”. The editor has a few sections: The event (title, category, description and the languages spoken), When and where, Registration, Form and Photo. Your event gets its own page and also appears on your church page and your church website. The public events list opens as soon as there are enough events. Read more on the events page.
Does event registration cost anything?
No. Event registration is free for every church, within fair use, and so are the tools below. Sign-up data is shown only to your team and deleted 30 days after the event.
Can I ask my own questions when people register?
Yes. Open the event and go to Form. Add questions such as “Do you attend our church?” or “Any food allergies?”: short or long text, a dropdown, pick one, a checklist, yes/no, a number or a date, each optional or required. The answers appear as columns in your list, in the download for Excel and in a short summary per question. Only ask what you really need: answers about health or faith are sensitive. They are visible only to your team and deleted with the registration.
Is there a quicker way to build a form?
In Form, under “Add questions”, choose a template: Meal, Children's activity, First-time visitors or Camp or retreat. It adds ready-made questions that you can still change. You can also copy all the questions of one of your earlier events.
Can a question appear only after a certain answer?
Yes. Edit the question and choose “When to show this question”, for example “Only if ‘Any allergies?’ is Yes”. The question then appears only when that answer is given, and a hidden question is never required. A condition can use an earlier dropdown, pick-one, checklist or yes/no question.
Can people choose Adults and Children?
Yes. In Registration, add ticket types, for example Adults and Children, each with its own limit if you like. People then pick how many of each type. The maximum number of people still counts for everyone together, and when a type is full people can join the waiting list. Your list shows the tickets per person and the total per type.
In which language are my event and its emails?
In The event, choose the languages spoken at your event: visitors see them on the event page and can filter the events list by language. Choose the language you write in under “Written in” and, if you like, add the title and description in English, French or Dutch in the other tabs. Questions and ticket types can be translated too (“Translations” when you edit a question, and next to each ticket type). Visitors read the version in the language of the site; without one they see your original text. Answers are always saved in your own language, and every email to a person who registered uses the language they registered in.
Someone signed up by phone. How do I add them?
Open the event and click Add a person. The email address is optional: someone without email gets no emails. If you fill it in, you can send them the usual confirmation. People you add count towards the places, even beyond the maximum: you decide.
How does check-in on the day work?
Open the event and click Check-in, preferably on your phone. Tap a name when the person arrives (tap again to undo); the top shows how many people have arrived. Someone who didn't register? Add them at the bottom with just a name. Your list and download show who arrived.
How do I send a message to everyone who registered?
Open the event and click Message everyone. Write your message in your main language and, if you like, a version in English, French or Dutch: everyone gets the version in the language they registered in. Each person receives their own copy (nobody sees the others' addresses) and replies come to your own email address. You can send up to 3 messages a day per event. For a very large group, contact us first.
How am I told about new registrations?
In My church → Events → Emails, each person who manages the church chooses for themselves: one summary a day (the standard, only on days with changes), an email for every registration and cancellation, or no emails.
Your own website
What is the church website?
Your own page at its own address, with your colours, ministries and team, without other churches around it. It's the one paid plan. Read more on the church website page.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes. Once your website is published, forward your domain name to your website address with a permanent redirect (301). Only redirect the website: never change the email settings of your domain, or your church email could stop working.
Plan, privacy and contact
How do I change my card, cancel or get a receipt?
Open My church → Plan and click “Manage subscription and invoices”. There you can change your card, switch plan and cancel; a cancelled plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Receipts for every payment are listed on the Plan tab, and a VAT invoice is available on request. See also the terms for paid plans.
Who sees the information that people leave?
Only your church's representatives see sign-ups for your events, and they are deleted 30 days after the event. Read more in the privacy policy.
